Overview

In order to run this workshop you need an IBM Cloud account and free IBM Cloud Kubernetes Cluster.

To create a free IBM Cloud Kubernetes Cluster you need a Trial Account or Pay-As-You-Go Account for IBM Cloud.

You have two options and in both options you will create no cost:

1. You need a feature code to create an IBM Cloud Trial account.

   • You get such feature code when you attend the workshop digital or in face to face.

   • You get also a feature code, when you register at the free learning platform Cognitiveclass AI.

     

2. You create a IBM Lite Account and upgrade your account to a Pay-As-You-Go account by using your credit card. (Account Types)

We will use the following IBM Cloud Services in this hands-on workshop:

• IBM Cloud Kubernetes Service

• IBM Cloud Container Registry Service

Tools

We created a Docker image that we use in this workshop. The Docker image contains all needed CLIs such as:

• git

• curl

• IBM Cloud CLI

  IBM Cloud CLI releases

• Docker

• kubectl

So, in order to complete the workshop, you need to install Docker Desktop on your local machine. Docker Desktop is available for Mac and Windows and the Docker Engine can be run natively on Linux.
